Jupiter, a gas giant, is the fifth and largest planet in the solar system and is the first planet outside of the asteroid belt that separates The Rim from The Core.  It is under the rule of the Moon Lords.

"In the steel blue sky, the marbled surface of Jupiter undulates… It seems the vast and evil head of a marble god.” — Darrow[1]

CompositionEdit

Jupiter is a large gas giant and is mentioned as having a marbled-colored surface.[1]

Edit

Climate Edit

Because Jupiter emits massive amounts of radiation, special measures had to be taken during the terraforming of her moons.  For example, engineers covered most of Io, the closest Galilean moon, with pulse fields, and thickened the atmosphere to filter out the excess amount of radiation coming from planet.[1]

Edit

Ecology Edit

Jupiter is not terraformed and remains uninhabited, since it is a gas giant.[2]

History Edit

Background Edit

Jupiter’s largest moons are home to over 400 million people.[1] At least 150 million of which are low colors.[3]  There are also 8,000 peerless scarred.[1]

Edit

The First Moon Lord Rebellion Edit

In 683 PCE, the Governors of the moons of Jupiter, allied with other Moon Lords of the Rim, tried to establish independence from the Core after Octavia au Lune beheaded her father and crowned herself Sovereign of Society. This event was called the Moon Lord Rebellion.

Edit

The Second Moon Lord Rebellion Edit

Jupiter and it’s moons were also a central part of the second rebellion of The Rim.  The Raa family, who hail from Io, were the first to declare independence and then pressured other leaders from other populous moons to join.[1]

Locations Edit

Edit

Major Moons Edit

Jupiter is surrounded by numerous moons.  The four largest are called the Galilean moons; Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto.[4]

Edit

Secondary Moons Edit

Other named moons mentioned:

  • Thebe - the fourth closest satellite of Jupiter, followed by Io (the fifth). There is a depleted mining moon turned into a military base which was heavily bombed during The Second Moon Lord Rebellion.[5]

Trivia Edit

From Io, Jupiter is seen as 130 times larger than the size Luna appears from Earth.[1]
